Aspirus Children's Safety Center

The Aspirus Children’s Safety Center has four convenient locations in north central Wisconsin and offers safety items for children at discounted prices.

Made possible through a gift of $47,000 from Kohl’s Care's for Kids®, this community resource is staffed by the Kohl’s Safety Crew who not only sell children safety products, but also provide instructions on how to use the items along with other safety tips.

Some of the items available at the Safety Center, include bike, ski and multi-sport helmets, booster seats, Pack N Plays, life jackets, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, cabinet locks, security gates, outlet covers and other safety products. All items are sold at reduced rates.

The Kohl’s Safety Crew educates people about the importance of using safety items not only at the Safety Center, but also at community events. In addition, people may call the safety center to schedule an appointment to have their car seats checked.

Aspirus Health Foundation is a partner with Kohl’s Department Stores and its Kohl’s Cares for Kids® program.  During the back-to-school, holiday and spring seasons, Kohl’s offers special items for sale with all profits used to support children's health, safety and education initiatives such as this one.

The special seasonal items – all priced at $5 – are made exclusively for the Kohl’s Cares for Kids® program and can be purchased at Kohl’s Department stores. Proceeds from the Rib Mountain (Wausau) and Plover stores go toward child safety programs sponsored by Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Since the beginning of the Aspirus – Kohl’s Cares for Kids® partnership in 2006, the Kohl’s stores in our area have raised more than $121,000 to support children's health and safety initiatives in partnership with Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
