Lactation Services & Breastfeeding Warm Line

Certified lactation consultants are available daily to assist you and your baby in getting a good start with breastfeeding. They will also provide education about breastfeeding. Our lactation consultants counsel women about breastfeeding concerns and problems and can meet with nursing mothers after discharge or at the Motherhood Support Group, held every Monday 1:30-2:45 p.m.

For additional support after you go home, call the Breastfeeding “Warm Line” at 715-847-2910 or Toll-free (866) 227-0105 anytime day or night. When you call, you may leave a message, which will be answered by a member of the lactation services team within 24 hours. If you need immediate assistance, follow the prompts to speak with a Birthing Center nurse.

Newborn Hearing Screening

The ability to hear is vital for infants. Precious learning time can be lost if a child cannot hear well. To provide your baby the best start, Aspirus Women's Health Birthing Center, through the support of our hospital volunteers, offers a hearing screening to all newborns before discharge. Babies who do not pass the screening will be referred to an audiologist for follow-up. You will not be charged for the hearing screening completed at the Birthing Center.
