Falls Prevention Fridays

Aspirus Senior Health offers a free monthly community service called Falls Prevention Friday.

The program features a presentation and discussion that include information about how to be proactive and minimize your risk or your loved one’s risk of falling.

Falls Prevention Friday is offered on the first Friday of each month from 10 – 11 a.m. at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Medallion Room B, which is located just inside the hospital’s main entrance.

Facts About Falls

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

  • One out of three adults age 65 and older falls each year.
  • Falls are the most common cause of injury and hospital admission in the U.S.
  • Falls racked up about $28 billion in medical costs among people 65 and older in 2010.
