The Aspirus Wausau Hospital Respiratory Therapy unit provides both outpatient and 24-hour inpatient services.
Our inpatient services include ventilator monitoring using Drager Evita 4 and Siemens Servo 300A ventilators, non-invasive positive pressure ventilation using Respironics BiPap Vision model. We also provide a full range of pulmonary therapeutics along with blood gas draws/analysis, intubation, and support the hospitals Critical Care Transport Service.
All of our therapists are Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry eligible by the National Board For Respiratory Care (NBRC) and licensed by the State of Wisconsin (RCP). Besides basic CPR training they also have additional training and must maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).

Smoking Cessation Program
Specially trained healthcare professionals guide and support people who are trying to quit using tobacco products. For more information, refer to the Aspirus Wausau Hospital Tobacco Cessation Program.
In partnership with Cardiac Rehabilitation, we offer a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals who provide education and exercise programs for people with lung problems. The program is accredited by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
Sleep Disorders Center
This five-bed sleep center provides diagnosis of sleep disorders such as excessively loud snoring, central sleep apnea and obstructive sleep apneas (interruptions of breathing during sleep).
