Be A Friend 4 Life
Heart disease is the leading cause of death among American women, while breast cancer is No. 1 for women between the ages of 40 and 55. Not only does the power of friendship provide comfort and healing if one is dealing with one of these diseases, but friends can also remind each other to undergo screenings and adopt healthier lifestyles.
The Be A Friend 4 Life program understands the importance women place on relationships and helps them act as ambassadors to reach out to their friends to promote heart and breast health and early detection of breast cancer and heart disease.
Women who register for the program will receive a "Be A Friend 4 Life" kit containing:
- An ambassador pin
- Messages about breast cancer screening and heart disease
- Note cards that can be personalized and sent to four friends with a breast self-exam mirror cling and a heart health pocket card
Aspirus Women's Health, Newsline 9, the Wausau Daily Herald, and the Stevens Point Journal have teamed-up to share this important message with you and all women throughout Central Wisconsin.
