Magnet Nursing

Empirical Quality Results

The Magnet recognition process initially focused on structure and processes, with an assumption that good outcomes will follow.  More recent models have placed an ever-increasing focus on the actual outcomes.  The question has shifted from “What do you do?” to “What difference have you made?”

Magnet-recognized organizations are in a unique position to become pioneers of the future and to demonstrate solutions to numerous problems inherent in our health care systems today. Outcomes are carefully selected and measured to determine if solutions have made the desired impact.  These outcomes create a “report card” and are a simple way of demonstrating excellence.
