When would it be appropriate for me to seek treatment at Aspirus Pain Clinic?
Your personal physician can successfully treat many painful conditions. If your pain persists, or does not improve with treatment, you should discuss with your personal physician whether a referral to the Aspirus Pain Clinic is appropriate.
Can all types of pain be treated at Aspirus Pain Clinic?
There are many different types of pain and while many can be successfully treated at a pain clinic, other types of pain are best treated outside of a pain clinic setting. Acute pain that is the result of an injury, surgery or medical illness usually last a short time and goes away as the body heals. For that reason, acute pain is not often treated at Aspirus Pain Clinic, an exception would be patients that have been evaluated by a physician and that physician believes the patient can benefit from treatment in the acute state.
Chronic pain continues for longer periods and sometimes remains despite the healing of the original injury. Patients with chronic pain often seek treatment at Aspirus Pain Clinic.
Where is the Aspirus Pain Clinic located?
The Aspirus Pain Clinic is located on the second floor of Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
