Aspirus unveils new NICU

Aug 13, 2009

On Thursday, Aug. 13, Aspirus Wausau Hospital unveiled the newly expanded Anya Marie Jackson Newborn Intensive Care Unit during a public grand opening celebration.

Here's a look at the new $4 million, state-of-the-art NICU at Aspirus:

A comforting, warm environment for visitors, the Family Wait Room has a TV, fireplace and computers with Internet access.

The Donor Wall honors the generous donations of those who made the Anya Marie Jackson NICU possible.

The Growing Miracles Wall will proudly display photos of the babies that come through the NICU.

12 Private Rooms feature a recliner and a sofa bed for family, so they can be with their newborn as much as possible. The private-room concept allows premature and critically-ill newborns to receive the individualized care they need in an environment that promotes maximum healing.

The Reception and Employee Work Stations provide visitors with easy access to health care professionals.

 More about the new NICU:

The Family Kitchen Area offers snacks, and a place to store and cook food. Families can spend a great deal of time in the NICU with their newborn, and having access to the same comforts as home makes their stay easier.
