Louis LaGrand to lead seminars for grieving families, caregivers
ROTHSCHILD, Wis. – Wings, a Grief Education Ministry and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services are offering a community grief seminar at the Holiday Inn & Suites at Cedar Creek in Rothschild.
The seminar consists of two sessions, with the first, Messages and miracles: the healing power of signs from the deceased, running from 7 to 9 p.m. on April 24. This is a free community seminar for grieving families and is open to the public.
The second seminar, called Understanding the differences between mourners who adapt and those who have long-term difficulties in coping with the death of a loved one, runs from 9 a.m. to noon on April 25. It is for clergy, hospice professionals, caregivers and those who grieve.
Conducting the seminars will be Louis LaGrand, Ph.D., a distinguished service professor emeritus at the State University of New York and adjunct professor of health careers at the eastern campus of Suffolk Community College in Riverhead, N.Y. He is the author of nine books and numerous articles, and is known world-wide for his research on the after-death communication phenomena experienced (Extraordinary Experiences) by the bereaved.
The April 24 session is free of charge and does not require registration. The April 25 session is $40, and professional CEUs have been approved. Registration will be available at the door, but pre-registration is recommended. To register online, go to wingsgrief.org.
