WAUSAU, Wis. – Aspirus Wausau Hospital has appointed Marita Hattem the interim President and Chief Operating Officer of Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Hattem, who has been an administrator at Aspirus since 2008, assumed her new role on November 21. She steps into the position previously held by Diane Postler-Slattery, who has moved on after 24 years at Aspirus to become the President and Chief Executive Officer at Mid-Michigan Health in Midland, Mich.
“We are very fortunate at Aspirus to have so many talented leaders throughout or organization who were willing to step into this role until a permanent replacement for Diane is found,” said Duane Erwin, President and Chief Executive Officer for Aspirus, Inc. “Marita has been instrumental in the success of several key initiatives at Aspirus and I have no doubt that she will continue to do a great job in her new role and help move the organization forward.”
Prior to her appointment, Hattem was the Vice President of Physician Support Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. In that role, Hattem oversaw physician recruitment, physician relations, Aspirus’ level II trauma program and transport services, and Aspirus Women’s Health, among other areas.
Hattem came to Aspirus in January 2008 after spending 12 years at Parkview Health in Fort Wayne, Ind., where she was the Executive Director of Medical Staff Services & Physician Relations. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Central Michigan University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne. She also is certified by both the American College of Healthcare Executives and the National Association of Medical Staff Services.
