WAUSAU, Wis. – A renovation project currently underway at Aspirus Wausau Hospital will temporarily impact patients and visitors who use the east entrance of the building.
Beginning Wednesday, October 31, patients and visitors will no longer be able to use the east entrance to the Aspirus Heart & Vascular Institute. Visitors coming to the Heart Institute, surgical services or outpatient services can access these areas via the east entrance currently identified as Aspirus Women’s Health, located just north of the impacted entrance on the same side of the hospital. A new sign will be put in place that clearly indicates all the destinations at this newly designated entrance.
Patients and visitors to these areas should continue to use the parking lot (Lot F) on the east side of the hospital. A patient drop off area will be available at the entrance and some handicap parking previously located in front the Aspirus Heart & Vascular Institute will be shifted to this lot. If this lot becomes full, visitors should park in the main lot on the west side of the hospital.
Interior and exterior signs will be updated throughout the Aspirus Wausau Hospital campus to help patients and visitors get to these newly designated entrance.
The full construction project, which began Sept. 10, is for a building addition that will expand and update the hospital’s surgical suites. It is expected to take about 15 months, while the work impacting the east entrances is anticipated to be completed in the spring.
