Mom, daughter to share personal experience with diabetes at event

WESTON, Wis. – Aspirus is offering a free diabetes education program on June 18.
The session, called Our Diabetes Journey, features a mother and her young daughter, who will share their story about living with Type 1 diabetes. The two will talk to parents and kids about:
- The choices young people have in managing their diabetes.
- Understanding each other’s point of view.
- Situations specific to youth and parents.
This event begins at 4 p.m. at the Aspirus YMCA, located at 3402 Howland Drive in Weston. All parents, children, teachers and community members interested in learning more about Type 1 diabetes are encouraged to attend.
This educational session is free to attend, but registration is requested by calling the Aspirus Information Center at 715.847.2380 by June 17. Healthy snacks will be provided and attendees will be entered into a special door prize drawing.
This event is sponsored by the Aspirus Health Foundation, Aspirus Clinics and Aspirus Diabetes Education Center/Nutrition Counseling Center. It is supported by local school district partners and funding is provided by the EO Johnson Charitable Legacy Fund through the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin.
