Originally from Mount Pleasant, Michigan, Melissa began working at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in February of 2011. She graduated from Saginaw Valley State University in December of 2010, and afterward, completed an internship at the outpatient clinic at MidMichigan Medical Center in Clare, Michigan. She gained experience working with various hand injuries and performed work capacity evaluations.
During her second internship at Roosevelt Warm Springs Long Term Acute Care Hospital, Melissa worked with patients who suffered from brain injuries, strokes and amputations. She also worked with patients who were admitted to the inpatient rehab unit. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time outdoors exploring the Upper Peninsula.
